Joe's favorite run that he could think of is a route off the coast of Hawaii near diamond head, where he often visits. The terrain is mostly sidewalk which is the only downside of the run he explained, but nevertheless, the view of the beautiful pacific coast makes up for it. I asked Joe what would be his most ideal post run, race, or workout meal and he responded with the classic California traditional answer. In N Out: double double, fries, and a chocolate shake. He says "I pig out because I feel I lost a lot of energy while running". finally, when asked what running shoe brand he prefers the most, Joe answered with Nike, but specifically the Nike Pegasus series. Joe is a heel strike runner so he likes the support the Pegasus provides him and they help prevent injury. He has been wearing them since his collegiate career after he had tried some other brands throughout high school.
Joe's Most memorable running moment is actually a large event. It was his last season's track & field Big West Conference Championships. This was Joe's final race as a Cal State Fullerton athlete and he felt that it was special. The race a 5000 meter race but before the race even began, Joe had just realized that his team had taken the lead in the team score. This increased the pressure on Joe and his teammates during the race. Although he did not win the race individually, him and other Titans were able to disperse the rival team scoring. Eventually the Titans were victorious and took away the Big West Conference Championship title for the first time in the program's history. Joe felt really proud of himself and thought that it was special that he was able to become part of the team's history.
